Thuckalay

Thuckalay is a town in Kanniyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, India. It is pronounced as THAKKALAI .It is well connected by road from both (51 km)Thiruvananthapuram and (17 km)Nagercoil. Places like Moolachel, Charode, Saralvilai, Muttakadu, Kumarapuram, Neyoor, Thiruvithancode, Mekkamandapam surround the town. Muslim Saint Peer Mohamed Sahib Appa / Yakheem Mohamed Sahib Appa Dharga & Kochhu Bava Thangal Durga are of main Muslim land marks. Near by 'Kovil Vattam' (KeralaPuram)has a famous Hindu Temple. Speciality of this Temple is that the idol in this temple changes its colour to black for six months and white for another six months by itself. The French commander DILANOY is buried in a near by place called Udayagiri Fort. It is near to the Padbanathapuram Palace. It attracts many tourists from all over the world.
