Sorry, the GFDL forbids keeping copies of content in this way. Just zis Guy you know? 10:34, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zelda template.

I'd say that while it's more thorough, which is nice, maybe it would be better to just put thorough release dates in the individual articles, and remove them from the main LOZ series article entirely. -- Digital Watches 19:25, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Makes sense. I was partly motivated by the thought that someone might not like that only the Japanese dates are cited, but you're right. Throw 19:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sleater-Kinney

Just curious, is there any particular reason why you reverted the updated, newer artist infobox on the Sleater-Kinney page to the older one? King Bee 02:03, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I didn't revert anything. I changed the template to a cleaner looking one. Throw 02:04, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
It was the older template, which I changed to the newer one, and you put it back to be the older one. That's why I said "reverting." It wasn't reverting in the typical wiki-lingo, sorry. I thought we were to be using the newer ones, no? Is that not an accepted standard? King Bee 02:07, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not aware of any standard template usage Wikipedia prefers its members to use. I just changed Sleater-Kinney's template because the other one looks clunky. The one I put on looks better and cleaner – at least to me. I also added additional information such as the years the band was with each particular record label. If you prefer the old template then change it, I guess, but please keep the additional information I added. Throw 02:12, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
I just wanted some clarification, that's all. I think there is a debate amongst those who frequently edit musical artist pages as to which template to use anyway. I went on a kick of changing them all to the one that you thought looked clunky, and sometimes I received flak for my actions; other times I didn't. If it ever does get changed back to the newer template, I'll make sure your added information is not lost in the fold. Thanks for the clarification. King Bee 02:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Language links

I was curious why you reverted the language link here. One of the goals for the Wikipedia namespace is to have as many links to versions of the page in other languages as possible, for which the [[language code:name of article in other language]] markup was intended. Your edit was marked "rv," which I understood at first to mean "reverting vandalism." Please provide better explanations for reversions in the future to make your intentions clearer. Captainktainer * Talk 15:58, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

That language link appeared to me to be a joke since it was marked "Simple english." That may me a language in urben settings but in contemporary languages is it not identified as such. Throw 15:59, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
We have a Simple English Wikipedia. Please see the Wikipedia project description. Thanks. Captainktainer * Talk 16:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
I just noticed Wikipedia's Simple English project. Thanks for informing me. Throw 16:04, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your articles about Big Love episodes

In the state they are in now they probably qualify for the deletion criteria in Wikipedia so I'd like to know if you intend to fill the articles with actual information and encourage you to do so as soon as possible. If they are still all in this state a week from now I will nominate them for deletion.

It concerns the following articles: Pilot (Big Love episode), Viagra Blue (Big Love episode), Home Invasion (Big Love episode), Eclipse (Big Love episode), Affair (Big Love episode), Roberta's Funeral (Big Love episode), Eviction (Big Love episode), Easter (Big Love episode), A Barbecue for Betty (Big Love episode), The Baptism (Big Love episode), Where There's a Will (Big Love episode), The Ceremony (Big Love episode). - Dammit 17:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I do intend to write synopses for the episodes, though I feel you're jumping the gun a little. There's several television series whose individual episode articles are in a similar state, waiting to be filled out by fans. No need to nominate the Big Love episodes merely because you ran into them. If you're a fan of the show, feel free to contribute. Throw 21:10, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh, but they have no text (other than the sidebar on the right side) and appeared to be abandoned. I'm glad to hear you intend to write synopses for them though, good luck with that. Unfortunately I won't be able to help you though, I don't even know the show. - Dammit 21:17, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:ReginaldFils-AimePromotionalPhotograph.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:ReginaldFils-AimePromotionalPhotograph.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:10, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Please knock it off. I already explained to you [1] that a free image will triumph over a fair use one. It doesn't matter which image you think looks better or not. We're breaking copyright law by uploading a copyrighted image, with fair use as our defense. We have no fair use defense if there's a free one that depicts Fils-Aime. Hbdragon88 23:46, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image warning

Final Warning
Stop reinserting images which have been removed because of legal and fair use concerns. Your actions can be seen as vandalism. If you do one more such edit you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You may not get another warning before being blocked.
For Reginald Fils-Aime. Hbdragon88 00:40, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
What authority do you have that I don't? You're just using scare tactics, now. Throw 00:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

WIkipedia takes copyright issues extremely seriously. A freely license photo will always take precedence over a copyrighted one. You've replaced the free image twice and even uploaded the same image after it was deleted. Your actions are disrupting the article. Hbdragon88 00:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

That doesn't answer my question. You posted a notice that's obviously suppose to frighten me. You have no more authority than I do yet your notice speaks a language that should make me quiver. Unfortunately I'm not falling for it as others you've threatened have.
In future if you have an issue with me then tell me about it, don't try to scare me. I'm not easily intimidated; though I am arrogant, as you've witnessed. Throw 00:53, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I did tell you about it. Once again, see [2]. #4 states why the free image is better than the copyrighted one. You simply said that you thought Jimbo could care a little bit less about copyrighted photos. You ahve since continued to repost that photograph, even after someone else deleted the photo and replaced it with the free one.

I don't have the actual authority to do so, but there is WP:AN/I and other noticeboards to report to. Hbdragon88 01:04, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Sure, I'm aware you can report anyone and anything. I've no problem with that. Feel free to report me if you see fit to do so. What I do care about is you pretending to be an administrator threatening to block my IP address. If you've done this to me you've done it to others. Stop that practice, you have no authority. Throw 01:07, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

No, but then again, nobody else is as dogged as you are in constantly reposting the same image as you are. Hbdragon88 01:13, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I plead guilty in that regard. Arrogance is a trait that's gotten me far in my life, I feel no need to change it. But I feel we understand each other. I'm through from this end. Throw 01:18, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your image

Dear Throw! Sorry for bad english! May I use this your image in userbox template "Студент Хогвартса" (on english: Student of Hogwarts) in Russian Wikipedia? Thank you! --Alexey Belomoev

[edit] PSP game covers

Hi, I see you've been uploading many PSP game covers. The template {{gamecover}} accepts various platforms as a parameter, so could you use

{{|gamecover|PlayStation Portable}}

for PSP covers and

{{|gamecover|Nintendo 64}}

for N64 covers and so on. Thankyou. Timkovski 19:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Where it says "tl" is that where I insert the title of the video game? Throw 19:18, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. I'll update the covers. Throw 19:15, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
No, sorry, that was a typo, I just updated it. Just put the name of the system after the word gamecover. You can see the platforms the template accepts here Category:Video game covers, thanks for that. Timkovski 19:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the correction. I'm wondering if you can help me once again. I want to setup the PSP covers I've replaced for speedy delation so they won't eat up space on Wikipedia. Do you know how I can do that? Throw 19:44, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Sure, make sure the image isn't being used on any page, then just add the template {{db|reason}}, replacing the word reason with your reason for deleteing the image, Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion might help. Timkovski 20:04, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:NamcoMuseumBattleCollection-EUFrontCover.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NamcoMuseumBattleCollection-EUFrontCover.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jesse Viviano 03:42, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

What's wrong with the image? It's a video game cover. It's properly tagged. Throw 03:58, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
What is wrong is that fair use tags need to have a detailed fair use rationale as explained in Help:Image page#Fair use rationale. As for why the image was deleted so soon, I do not know. I think that it was a mistake on CambridgeBayWeather's part, and I left a note on his talk page about the mistake. Jesse Viviano 05:08, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
The reason the image was deleted so soon is because I submitted it for speedy deletion. Since you fixed the US version of the video game cover I felt no need to keep the one I uploaded. Throw 05:10, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
The reason I was wondering about the speedy deletion was that it felt wrong to just have the US boxshot and not have others, making it too US centric. Even though I am American, I do feel that Wikipedia is an international project and should be treated as such. Jesse Viviano 05:18, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What is wrong with the image in Namco Museum Battle Collection

You just need to flush the cache on your browser. I just uploaded a new version of the image and your browser has the old version of the image that had a ridiculous white border around it. The bad old version is still in your browser cache. Jesse Viviano 04:14, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Just saw the new cropped version. Thanks for the fix. Throw 04:15, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing the reference link on the Tyrannosaurus page. Now I have to go back and fix all the others I did wrong on other pages. :-) Mdotley 16:56, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suicide Methods talk page

Hey dude, I saw your message on the talk page where you replied to that person who says that they need help. I agree that it sounds a bit suss since they didn't use their login name, but maybe they were embarrased or something. In any event, is it surprising? Isn't it logical that a fair few percent of the people who look up suicide in wikipedia aren't merely morbid, but suicidal? Can't you see that the article is teaching people how to kill themselves as we speak?Wik98 02:56, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Sure, it's logical to believe people look up strange and morbid things on the Web, not on suicide methods exclusively but even how to commit murder (From what I've read "How to kill your wife" is a frighteningly common search). An unbiased and neutral article can't be held accountable when all it is providing is information in that manner. Besides, most of the information in the article should be common knowledge to nearly anyone. Killing one's self isn't diffiult; the bullet knows what to do. What it takes is will, and no Web site can make anyone do anything. It still doesn't excuse the fact that Suicide methods is an informative article that - in a perfect world - would serve no other purpose than as a document of the many ways human beings kill themselves.
If for some reason you believe Wikipedia might be held accoutable for unintentionally helping someone commit suicide then it would set precedence to begin censoring influential individuals, organizations and others who some deem their beliefs and/or behaviors inappropriate and even damn foolhearty. Should the many articles on Scientology be next to be deleted? Marilyn Manson? Bill O'Reilly? The word Nigger? Throw 03:07, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:HarryPotter-HogwartsSeal.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Do you get your chuckles by following me around seeing how you can annoy me? Get a new hobby. Throw 03:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Is it so hard to actually provide a source and a correct, specific copyright tag? I mean, honestly. Copyright problems = zero with a good source and appropriate tag. I no longer even try to use nsd/nld because you just remove it and crow, "It has a source. Call off your henchbots." I've withdrawn the nomination since you provided the source. Hbdragon88 04:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
You do follow me around. Though the thought of having a Wikipedia stalker makes my ol' geeky heart go thumpthump you really need to get a new hobby. You'll see from my contributions – and I'm sure you have – that I'm here to help, not fuck things up. If you had an issue with the image you should have contacted me directly. These sort of things can be taken care of one-on-one, and quickly, as you saw.
On second thought keep an eye on my coming edits. I'm going to write episode synopses and I could use a proof reader. Throw 04:27, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
I tagged three Reggie-related images and all three times you responded with the same "henchbot" reaction (plus one eariler time from OrphanBot). I even replied to the first one, saying that the promo one of Reggie did not have a CC deed on the Flickr page. I have a vested interest in tidying up Reggie's article, and I do crawl around the Harry Potter related articles; I just don't edit them. Sure, if you'll point me to the synposes themseleves I could proofread them.
Now that the door is open...how about Image:PegEntwistlePortrait.jpg? It can't be PD-US; in 1923, Entwistle would have only been 15 years old, and she definitely looks like an adult here. Rather reluctant to touch it as it does illustrate the article well. Hbdragon88 06:36, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
If you have a vested interest in Reggie's article why didn't you contribute? That article was a complete mess and appeared abandoned before I began to reformat and add information to it.
As for Entwistle's photograph, it's obviously a promotional photograph she probably used to apply for roles, much like head shots. I'll some source later, or you can. Do you actually ever contribute to Wikipedia? Throw 07:06, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Do I ever contribute...have you seen my userpage? I contribute a lot in video ames, Pokemon, Digimon, and other areas. Yes, I haven't contriubted directly to it, but I did reformat the Reggie (disambiguation) page, which encompassed Fils-Aime. I will fight in the case of free vs. copyright though, as was the case for Miyamoto, Fils-Aime, and Orson Scott Card.

Now, if you're really bothered by that free image...you could ask Nintendo themselves to release the rights to that publicity one. See Example reqeusts for permission. Hbdragon88 07:24, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:RedmanOutsidePicture.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:RedmanOutsidePicture.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. [edit] TMNT 2003 AfD tags

Sorry about that - I thought the closing admin had taken care of it. They should all be gone now. If you find any more, please do me a favor and just delete them yourself - I'm attempting to take a wikibreak at the moment because of the Wisconsin midterm elections. I do feel a bit frustrated with the whole experience - I think it should be easier to nominate whole bundles of articles for deletion and do whatever cleanup is necessary afterwards, and I don't believe that the Pokémon test should be a valid argument at WP:AFD. I don't see the utility of separate articles for episodes when a list with the plot summaries (with a particularly notable or controversial episode getting its own article) would suffice. And, for the record, I'm not picking on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 TV series) - the same standard should apply to The Simpsons or any other TV show. It just happened that I ran across one TMNT 2003 episode that had been prodded and contested, so, as prod policy dictates, I took it to AfD. I'm working on an essay on the topic and would appreciate any thoughts you would be willing to contribute. --JaimeLesMaths (talk!edits) 05:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
