Throw Down Your Arms is the 2005 release of Sinéad O'Connor and marks her return as an artist after years on a spiritual quest which has lead her to Jamaica and reggae. Throw Down Your Arms is a collection of classic reggae songs performed by O'Connor and is produced by Sly and Robbie.
The album is a double CD. The first CD contains the original versions performed by O'Connor exactly as they were written by the original artists and the second CD contains an intro with a modified Bible verse followed by the dub versions of the songs.
The CD was released forty-two years after the speech of Haile Selassie to the United Nations (October 4, 1963) on the day of the annual solar eclipse which is the start of the new year according to the Jewish tradition (Rosh Hashanah).
The album sleeve was designed by evidentlydesign.com.
