[edit] Plot
Three thieves, Robert (John Wayne), William (Harry Carey Jr.), and Pete (Pedro Armendáriz), rob a bank in Arizona and flee from the posse of Sheriff Buck Sweet (Ward Bond). While riding they come across a woman (Mildred Natwick) left in a covered wagon about to give birth. With the help of the trio she gives birth and makes them promise to take care of her child before dying.
