[edit] History Section
History section doesn't contain relevent information. The looking back section can be identified as History and the current history section shall be put in the Intro.
[edit] Changes
Added info box , information was sourced out of http://thrissur.nic.in/Profile.htm The entire article needs to be reorganized. M31 07:14, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Finally reorganized the page, kept all information except "Physiography" the section reffered to Thrissur district and not the city itself. Added some extra info on culture , and removed the warning of article not being of quality. I think it now qualifies with Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cities - M31 02:09, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Repeatedly using malayalam words
Giving Malayalam words repeatedly seems to be inappropriate since there is malayalam version of Wikipedia available.
The Malayalam words in the bracket is useful for regional users.--Raju 13:03, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Separting Thrissur City and District Info
It will be good if the Thrissur Article is Seperated into Thrissur City and Thrissur District.
[edit] Thrissur District
I am starting the above article as at present Thrissur district doesn't have an article and the Kerala page links with Thrissur for Thrissur District. I feel that all the history and geography part in Thrissur city should go to the Thrissur District and only things which are specific to the Thrissur city should remain in this article. Comments please--Raghu 13:10, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have created the district article and moved most of the contents there. I don't know whether the colleges and churches that still find mention in the article are within the city. Thanks --Raghu 15:12, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Area May be incorrect
Kindly check on the Area detail given. Area of thrissur municipal corporation is 101.6 sqKm and that os district is 3032 sqKm
[edit] Translation
Does ten kailasam roughly translate to kailasam of the south? Jisha C J 15:26, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hai Jisha. It is Thenkailasam, which mean kailsh of the south. It is there int hese pages: [1] and [2]. It says Vadakkunath Temple is also known as thenkailasham. Regards--Raghu 15:34, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
I have a doubt whether it should be 'TEN' Kailasam or 'THEN' Kailasam. Is 'TEN' Kailasam a derivation of 'DASA'Kailasam?
[edit] cleanup
The educational istitutions list and other listings should be kindly placed somewhere else. This article looks more like travel/education guide than an encyclopedia article. More text than listing infrmation needs to be added. activevoid 21:53, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
