Hi, I don't know from where you've read that but I must laugh at your nonsense and I will hahahahahahaha.I don't know where are you from but I know for my self I come from KUMANOVO and I have been in the house of Hristian Todorovski-Karposh and I really know much more about my city than you.I really must correct you about Karposh. He is not partisan and his uprising was in 1689 and there is no way that he was in WWII.(but if you think that 1689 is WWII you must read the history again!!!!!).
Pulvis_angelus
Hi, My problem with it was the really low level of english in it, making it nearly impossible to understand. Also, if you search Karposh on the Wikipedia search, you will see where I took the information from. Their have been several Karposh. I hope you will at the very least improve the english in the section you insist on having because it is not well written or grammatically correct.
[edit] Ruff
Hi Thomas, I don't think I have a problem with my english, but if you think so please do not change the whole section of Kaposh just correct me and I'll see where I make mistakes.I've realized that we talk about different Karposh. Please accept my apologies for beeing so rude I was irritated because you've changed my text.

[edit] Kosovo geography stubs
Please do not remove SerbiaMontenegro-geo-stub from pages relating to the geography of Kosovo. In order to maintain a neutral POV, Wikipedia follows international recognitions of countries and territories, and as such Kosovo is currently regarded as a subdivision of SM, and will do so until such time that there is a formal decision on its future status. Removing the stub template from these articles will simply make it impossible for editors to find them and therefore Kosovo will be under-represented by good articles in wikipedia. It also makes it less likely that WP:WSS will know if and when there are enough stubs for a separate Kosovo geography stub template (at the moment there are far too few for this). In other words, removing the template, or giving the articles some other form like a simple geo-stub will disadvantage the place that presumably you are aiming to promote. Maybe I am wrong - maybe you are doing this to deliberately belittle Kosovo (as this is the effect it is having). If so, then I'd ask you to stop as - as I said before - it is important for Wikpedia and its editors to maintain a neutral POV. Grutness...wha? 02:15, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Regarding Angola-related articles. I am an admin and a participant of the WikiProjext categorization. And I quote from the official Wikipedia guidelines "an article should not be in both a category and its subcategory", so please for future reference, please do not add articles to the simpliest categories. [edit] Stubs
Hi,
I noticed you´ve created wuite a few new stub types. I just wanted to inform that these need to be proposed first. There is a special page for that located here. For a new stub type to be created, there should be at least around 60 stubs that would go into this category. Unfortunately, I doubt that wil be the case with {{Comoros-stub}} or {{Mauritania-stub}}, e.g. {{STP-stub}} will probably be re-named, since there are certain naming guidelines which have to be respected so that it will be easier for people to find the stub type they are looking for (for the discussion about the re-naming see WP:SFD). Stub types, which were created but never proposed are discussed at WP:WSS/D.
Thanx,
--CarabinieriTTaallkk 13:58, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- You can add {{Mauritania-geo-stub}} to that. If these stubs do not reach viable level soon, there is every chance they may be nominated for deletion at WP:SFD. Please, do not create new stub types withough first proposing them through the proper channels, as explained at WP:STUB and on the notice at the top of stub categories. Grutness...wha? 15:16, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- We normally give stub templates a chance to get populated. Material is often not properly tagged / categorized so perhaps more material will turn up. The normal threshold is officially 65, but effectively 60 articles. In similar cases, we've normally given the template a month or so to see if there's any growth. 45 is not that bad, so let's wait and see. Btw, the procedure for merging templates is to list them at WP:SFD and present the case there. But I've seen far worse cases than this one, so let's give it a chance. Valentinian (talk) 20:59, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Never blank stub templates!
I spent some time yesterday correcting the code of a number of templates you'd created, but blanking templates is even worse. Duplicates are *never* allowed regarding stub templates, and the names follow a pretty strict system, allowing users to easily guess the names of similar stub templates. If you wish to see one or more new templates: feel free to make a proposal for them at WP:WSS/P. If your suggestion presents no serious problems and the proposed template lives up to the size requirements (i.e. 60 or more articles must use it) it will then be approved 7 days later.
If a template has been named incorrectly, or could be named better, please present the case to WP:SFD. The case is then debated for 7 days before a decision is taken. In both cases, this time period is used to allow more users to have their say on the matter, to avoid obvious errors / problems. Stub templates are often used by a very large number of articles, and frequent edits to them is absolute poison to the servers, which are already strained enough. That's why we have to stick to this procedure to cut down the number of edits to them, in order to minimize the load on the servers. For more information, see WP:STUB. The only reason so few African templates exist is because it is only recently that *some* African countries have begun to live up to the size requirements. User:Carabinieri and I are already monitoring this situation and any new national template that lives up to the size requirements will be proposed asap. But it is a bad idea to create templates which will simply be deleted because they're hardly used. That would only mean more work for everybody. If you wish to see a new template, the procedure is simple: just find 60 articles that will need it, make a proposal at WP:WSS/P and wait for 7 days. Regards. Valentinian (talk) 11:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds great. It simply means less work for everybody if we get everything right the first time. But if you're interested in stubs, feel free to drop in at WP:WSS. Regards. Valentinian (talk) 13:09, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category UAE stubs
Hi Thomas - I realise there was a redlink on the UAE geography stubs category to the nonexistent UAE stubs category - but that wasn't an indication that there should be a UAE stubs category yet! It was simply there so that it would automatically go into a UAE stubs category if and when it was ever created. Certainly there aren't enough stubs for a separate category yet for UAE (though it may be getting close - there are a lot of struct-stubs relating to Dubai... perhaps I should do a count-up...). For now, though, I've deleted the UAE stubs category. Grutness...wha? 01:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cat:Sierra Leone bio stubs
Hi Thomas
I noticed you'd created this empty category. Rather than sending it through SFD, it is quicker if you (as the only editor of the page) add e.g. {{delete|Misspelled name}} to the category's page. This will allow any administrator to delete it on sight, but this trick only works if this message is added by the only editor to the page.
Btw, I just began wondering, is the best category name "Sierra Leone people stubs" or "Sierra Leonean people stubs" ? To me it seems like the longer name would be the name most in line with similar material and we also have Cat:Sierra Leonean people. Just my thoughts. Happy editing. [edit] UTexas-stub
- Hey, just doing some regular sorting/editing and came across the University of Texas at Austin stubs (UTexas-stub). I thought this seemed very strange and took a look at its history. I saw you SFD'd it back in March, but then withdrew it. Why was that? It seems far too broad to have its own stub (can anyone related to UTA use it? or perhaps just faculty? or buildings?) Did it go through the normal stub process?
Good questions all. I nominated it, but withdrew not because I thought it should be kept, but because there was a snowballing keep on SFD. Only one other regular stub sorter commented and he (like me) suggested that it should be renamed to cover all Texas Univesity stubs (both U of T and other universities). However, U of TA has its own Wikiproject, and there were about six or seven keep votes. The full gory details are here. I'd still like to see it rescoped, and would vote that way again if smeone brought it up for deletion again... Grutness...wha? 06:02, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Based on my edits, I don't see how you would have any clue about my own POV either. [edit] Hello
I noticed how you consider the Kosovo conflict a past conflict. I would disagree - the civil war continued to last through most of the UN protectorate, especially in 2004. This year was a conflict as well. I think that there will (almost for sure, and sadly) be new conflicts in the future (especially regarding the status - if its independence, we can expect opposition of the non-Albanian populace; if its autonomy, we can expect heavy albanian resistance).
Anyway, what's your opinion as the best solution for the Kosovo issue? (I ask because you evidently know a lot and you're introduced into the problem). --PaxEquilibrium 14:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, independence or no, that's (one of) the least (important) thing(s). I asked you for a full-scale solution. But we could say that the tensions are still high... and that practically, war still lasts. I'm not sure that there are 2,000,000 Albanians, I've heard that (and the 2.2) overestimate strictly from Albanian sources. And, if we return all the refugees, we would get a figure of almost 500,000 non-albanians (among whome 200,000-300,000 would be Serbs). There is also a fair amount of Albanians (Serbian sources claim even 100,000) that have nothing with Kosovo, but have migrated across the non-existent border division between Albania & Kosovo; the UN predicted a return of those people in 1999.
- You are right about the anti-UN feeling. In 2004 during the mass riot tens of UN peacekeeping units were killed and even more hurt. As a note to stop the negotiations, there were mass deminstrations this year. Search around wikipedia for "Self-determination! movement", if memory serves me well, it has an article. They are drawing the limits, and seeing the UN as European colonists of the Americans, whereas the rest of the population (read: all peoples) openly consider the protectorate an occupation. It has nothing to do with the will of some people, but with the fact that the UN & NATO have done such a poor job on Kosovo in the last 6 years.
- Financial help from Serbia for Serbs is out of the question; the Kosovar transitional government demands that the investments should go to Pristina, and then elsewhere; they see Kosovo centralist & unified (no division - they won't do the same mistake like the Serbs).
- My thoughts are that when talking realistic, the best possible solution for Kosovo is sadly, some form of independence. I say sadly, because that will be the end of BiH one way or another (peaceful or a new war). 90% of the population of the Serb Republic don't want to have anything to do with the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina; and since the Bosniak leadership has learned to like the fact that it almost won the recent war, it's expectable that they will under no circumstance allow the Serbs' separation... And since the World is unlikely to support the Serbs, it seems as if war will be the last option (then again, we return to the very circle that almost no Bosnian wants war and that the world will stop it this time - so it's an endless loop of political intrigue).
- As for my personal opinions - well, they could be wrong. I'm generally for disintegration of states and always for unification. I think that we have to simply undo all the things that happened before, make it seem like they never happened, to further undermine their evildoers. This is why I support bringing a firm Constitution for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and abolishing all the entities; making it unified again. This is why I think that what the serbian side in the negotiations for Kosovo is almost right: high-level autonomy within Serbia. This is why I am satisfied with the new Constitution of Serbia giving higher autonomy to Vojvodina; and this is why I support the transitional Croatia-Bosnia-Serbia-Kosovo-Macedonia-Albania-Montenegro union. Hopefully, one day, Europe (and the whole world) will finally be clear of borders. This is the main reason why I never support creating any sort of new international political entities. Cheers, mate.
-
- P.S. as its smaller cousin to the west did recently. What does this mean? Albania gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912. And it became free of Axis forces membership by 1943/4. --PaxEquilibrium 09:25, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Please note that deletion policy clearly states that deprodded articles should not be reprodded. -- Necrothesp 16:13, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Necrothesp's right. In these circumstances the usual thing to do if something is deprodded is to take it to AFD and nominate it for deletion in the old-fashioned way. This particular article is a borderline case - I'd be reasonably happy with a keep or a delete for it, and you'll probably find people on both sides of the fence when it comes to a
votediscussion. Grutness...wha? 04:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)- Pretty straightforward - you add {{subst:afd}} to the top of the article, then follow the redlink it makes to create a subpage of AFD. Once you've done that, you transcribe the new subpage to the bottom of the current day's AFD page. It's all explained step-by-step at the top of WP:AFD. Grutness...wha? 05:36, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
You claim to be a supporter of the 'third world,' yet you chose to launch an attack on the Julia Sinedia-Cazour article? Hi Thomas,
Thanks so much for your feedback on the Daniel Hesidence page -- is really helpful. Was a bit concerned about your posting re: copyright violation. At present, the text is also posted/published in other places -- but I am the author and legal copyright holder. Just thought it would be nice to contribute to Wiki as I use it all the time for my research and noticed it's a bit thin on articles concerning contemporary art. I've asked the primary publisher to email Wiki to clarify the copyright position. If you could advise on any further action I could take to maintain this page, please let me know. Thanks again for all your kind assistance. Best, --Infoart 18:13, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your comments re: style. Will bear it in mind. Was wondering if there is a Wiki email to which verification of copyright might be sent? Could you please let me know.
Also, re: notability -- the links to the galleries verify his exhibitions -- galleries don't list artists they're not exhibiting/representing. Links in the article include Paula Cooper, Paulo Curti, and The Saatchi Collection -- doesn't get much more high profile than that for living contemporary artists. If there's any further concerns, please follow the links -- all the galleries have his bio and CV listed for confirmation.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the heads up and for creating the template and cat. And keep up the good work on African topics, the whole continent tends to get overlooked, I think. - Jwillbur 07:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nazarbayev, Borat and semiprotection
I'm inclined to agree. If IP contributions were not accepted anymore it would hugely cut down on the amount of drive-by nonsense that we have to deal with every day. Requiring people to log in wouldn't be a big deal as it's super-easy to create an account, and I'm sure it would really cut down on vandalism. But....ahh, rant over. I'm not going to change Wikipedia policy by myself! We'll just have to be extra vigilant as regards Mr. Nazarbayev and Mr. Borat. :) K. Lastochka 19:19, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Concerning Sekou Toure
If you don't like the way I added my statement that is fine but it is not my personal opinion and can in fact be found in the third reference article: "Certes, les horreurs du camp Boiro, où souffrirent et périrent au nom de la révolution des milliers de prisonniers politiques, ne sont pas oubliées." "L'ambivalence est partout chez cet homme aux deux visages : dictateur sanguinaire qui a poussé la délation, la torture et la répression jusqu'à en faire un système de gouvernement." If you feel better equipped to reference this text and make this addition be my guest but I would like to see a reference to the humanitarian pitfalls of this man's nationalist campaign other than a brief mention of voter fraud.
[edit] Stub templates and main articles
It's not uncommon to not have a main article in the parent category, to link to as a 'single unit' in the scoping text; I generally just link to whichever components are (or seem likely to be) defined. BTW, shouldn't it be Cat:South African sport stubs? Alai 22:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Renamed, and I've added the usual "boilerplate" stuff too. Alai 22:13, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Columbus Communication
Fewer is better than more when it comes to stub templates - using two stub templates is useful when one is insufficient, but there's no point in using several stub templates when one conveys the information of several. Four stub templates is clearly excessive, so why not just use one?
BTW - I missed the discussion on these new stub templates - can you point me towards the discussion? Guettarda 20:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Four stub tags is excessive. Stub tags are to be used because they are useful, not because they exist. Including an article in multiple unrelated stub cats is useful, because it will draw eyes from several points. Including it in Caribbean + Trinidad + Jamaica doesn't draw extra eyes - it's the same set of people who edit Jamaican, Bajan and Trini articles, by and large. Guettarda 21:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Thomas ... no problem on the map. I'll put something together when I return from vacation next week. Rarelibra 00:23, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

FYI - Leaving two line breaks above a stub template produces far less crowded (and thus, more readable) text. Guettarda 17:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Patriots
That game was incredible!!! Thanks for the good job. I'm trying to keep his thing as up-to-date as I can. He needs all the support he can get. What "Drew" acquisition? Bledsoe or J.D.???? I'm in Alaska so i don't get a lot of the New England gossip going around
- I've heard rumbles that they want to get him. I hope that they do. The Sox need as much of an improvement in the outfield as they can get especially if Trot is leavingPharos04
[edit] Freedom in the World
If you want to create a separate article for each year's ranking, I have no problem with that. But, please, let the main page be non-year specific. Thanks. —☆ CieloEstrellado 04:33, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Because there was no main page! —☆ CieloEstrellado 05:11, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Bangweulu Block
I un-geo'd it mainly because all the other similar articles are listed primarily as geology-stubs rather than geo-stubs. In a way you're right, it is about a geographical area, but I don't really think it would attract the same sort of editors as normally work on geographical articles. Just a personal opinion, though - if you think it works better as a geology/geo double-stubbing, then fair enough. Grutness...wha? 22:26, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Just FYI
References can't be listed under external links. They have to be listed in the References section or cited as footnotes, etc. The external links section is for additional internet resources which were not used for references. You might want to seperate your references from your links. :-) Jefferson Anderson 22:39, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment. Growing up and now living in Southeastern New England, I enjoy working with Portuguese Africa. Many internationally-minded people who live in Portugal and Portuguese Africa come here to retire; it's an important part of the Portuguese-speaking world. -- And for some reason, the Miami Dolphins have a lot of fans here. No matter, go Patriots. --McTrixie/Mr Accountable 16:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Thomas,
I added a life sketch of my father which I see you have edited out. May I ask why...as the life sketch was complete and taken from the program which commemorated his passing.
Kind Regards Ronauld

Well Thomas the birth date is wrong so where did you cite that from...where was the text include cited from as I can't see it on the Contemporary African Database....sounds like the ethos of Wikipedia is just marketing.

If you want a scan copy of the document to justify verifiability I can send to you.

Thomas wrote: You are right, the birthday and death day which you added should also of been deleted and have. Everything written on it is from the Contemporary Africa Database. If you want to add facts, you need to use reliable sources like books, news paper articles or sites online. Besides, you cannot just completely copy ANYTHING with a copyright onto Wikipedia, that would be plagarism. Also consider Wikipedia:Autobiography--Thomas.macmillan 23:42, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Raweeks: I agree that if you are going to remove it, all should be removed...however if you look at the history you will see that the original birthday I put in the 15th was changed to the 25th. In addition technically 'reliable sources' are a misconception as an on-line source is not always reliable...if that was the case someone could create a site which is on-line and overnight it becomes a reliable source base on your definition above...In terms of the document used it was a family document and permission is given and source cited....I will reinterate that on the Contemporary African Database I have seen no mention of the text which is put under my father's name in Wikipedia...I'm not saying its wrong only that if we speak of facts then there should be no text just dates, positions and thats it as stated in the Contemporary African Database. Okay, then. Instead of telling me that my formatting is terrible, please tell me how I can work with you, considering the information provided on the page as it is now is completely incorrect. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jennyhill (talk • contribs) 14:57, 7 December 2006 (UTC).
I will have our webmaster handle the wikilinks, then. But I stand firm that there is no plagiarism on this page and the page that is already provided has innacurate information on it.
The Executive Director of Communications (my superior) would like to speak with you personally on the phone. If that is possible, please call us at (614) 823-1284
Thank you for the information. Where can we find information on how to remove our listing from Wikipedia altogether? If the college cannot maintain its content, we would prefer not to be listed at all. In addition, can you tell us who posted our logo without our permission, as it is the Office of Marketing and Communications that grants logo usage permission, and we were not contacted.
[edit] re: oddity
I don't see that at the moment. My first thought was possible template vandalism, but I don't see anything in the history of either {{tunisia-stub}} or {{listen}}. So I'm confused too... Perhaps image vandalism? Alai 22:56, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My mistake
I think I should have made my statement clearer. In my mind, when I said "Middle East", I was thinking of the Arab states KSA, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain. I lived in Oman for 17 years - and I know it is true that it is one of the most tolerant Arab nations. You can go ahead and edit it, but also note that I didn't blindly put it there as POV. I did provide references illustrating Oman's openness when it comes to other religions. Thanks --Vivin Paliath (വിവി൯ പാലിയത്) 22:30, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

I've blocked him (not banned, BTW - that's something much more serious) for 24 hours for vandalism. Let me know if he continues this editing pattern after the block expires.
