[edit] Stephen Thorsett

I'm an astrophysicist at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My research interests include compact objects of all types (neutron stars, white dwarfs, black holes). I'm mostly an observational radio astronomer, using radio telescopes like the Very Large Array, the Very Long Baseline Array, and Arecibo, but I also work on x-ray and gamma-ray astronomy. I'm involved, for example, in the GLAST gamma-ray telescope project and the NuSTAR x-ray telescope.
