Thorsten Hohmann

Thorsten Hohmann, born July 14, 1979 in Fulda, Germany, is a champion pool player. His nickname is "The Hitman" and he is the 2005 BCA Open champion, 2005 European Straight Pool Champion, and 2003 World Nine-ball Champion. He is also the 2004 German 9-ball champion and the 2005 Sudden Death Seven-ball Champion. Thorsten made history by being the first pool player to win a major IPT event. In 2006 World Straight Pool Championship and the 2006 International Pool Tour IPT North American Open 8-Ball Championship. The IPT prize also set a record as the most money ever won in a pool tournament. However, Efren Reyes beat that record shortly afterwards winning $500,000 in the 2006 IPT World Open Eight-ball Championship, the second major IPT event. Thorsten has been featured on the cover of many pool magazines and described as having a stealy demeanor with excellent precision. As of 2006, he is a US resident, living in Florida.
