Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield

Thornton Lodge is an area 1Km south of Huddersfield, bordering, Crosland Moor, Lockwood, Longroyd Bridge and Rashcliffe. It is mostly comprised of Urban housing and some small shops, with Industrial units around the area bordering Longroyd Bridge.
The housing area, runs up the side of a small hill. from the A62 which travels along the Colne Valley to Marsden and over the moorland into Greater Manchester to the town of Oldham and then on to the City of Manchester.
The local population is mostly comprised of second and third generation Indian and Pakistani families. The major employers within this area are involved in the Clothing, Textile and engineering industries.
