Thomas R. Tritton

Thomas R. Tritton is Haverford College's twelfth president, and has held the position since July 1997. Originally a cancer researcher, he currently teaches a senior-level quarter-long course on molecular oncology.

Tritton graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1969. He earned a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry from Boston University in 1973, and was a faculty member for 12 years each at Yale University and the University of Vermont.

On campus, he is commonly referred to by his nickname, "Tommy T."

On April 21, 2006 he announced his intention to resign at the end of the 2006-2007 academic year.
