Thomas R. Gould

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thomas R. Gould (1818-81) was an American sculptor, born in Boston. He was at first a merchant and did not adopt sculpture as a profession until after the Civil War. He practiced in Boston until 1868, when he established a studio in Florence, Italy. Although a man of fine culture and true personal worth, he was deficient in technical training and real sculptural feeling.
