Colonel Thomas Patterson Brockman was born December 4, 1797, in Greenville District (now Greenville County), South Carolina, and died August 20, 1859. Brockman was a major planter in the Greenville District, and a long time member of the South Carolina House of Representatives and the South Carolina Senate.
