Thomas Muehlenbeck

Thomas H. Muehlenbeck is the current City Manager of Plano, Texas. He was first appointed to the position on December 1, 1987.
Muehlenbeck began his public service career when he was selected to be the Assistant City Manager of Parsons, Kansas in June 1965. He has previously served as City Manager of Atchison, Kansas, College Park, Georgia, Valdosta, Georgia, Galveston, Texas, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Muehlenbeck has also been chosen to be Austin, Texas's Deputy City Manager.
He is currently the Chairman of the Board for the Texas Innovation Group and serves as Vice President of the Texas City Management Association. In 1994, Muehlenbeck was the President of the North Texas City Management Association.
Muehlenbeck earned his Bachelor of Science in 1964 from Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Texas and his Master of Public Administration in 1966 from the University of Kansas.
