Talk:Thomas Nelson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thomas Nelson burst in to the sport of rowing in the summer of 2001 and after a brief yet successful session of rowing realised that his true calling was in the art of coxing. After this change of direction Thomas' decision was immediately justified as he stormed in to the placing of no.1 in the club - a position which, aside from a short spell during the winter of his first year, he is yet to relinquish, despite challenges from many other coxes. His remarkable performances were acknowledged in 2004 when he was made Cox-in-chief, and later that year when the multi award winning Cox was honoured with an award being established in his name at the Christmas dinner. Despite his absence due to him flying out to Western Australia in order to try and sign the most promising young Cox in Australasia (a fruitless exercise despite his best attempts) he still managed to win an award at the dinner for his achievements - the first Cox ever to do so. This year Thomas was announced as Boys' Captain due to his remarkable performance as Cox-in-chief, a position which he will undoubtedly make his own.
