This article makes many assertations about Mr. Scott which need to be footnoted. Example: "He is considered by some to be the most successful white-collar criminal in American history." Example: "All his efforts helped bring about the "selection" of Hayes as president over Tilden." The article then discusses the causes of the American Revolution. More unverified statements are presented. The link to "Robber Baron [industrialist]" was followed. The usual suspects [Gould, Drew, Astor, etal.] are there. Scott is not.

The problem with the article as written thus far is not mainly its bias. It needs reworking. In fact, Tom Scott WAS a significant figure among the robber barons and did play a key role in the Hayes-Tilden outcome. I posted a reference which covers this extensively.
