"This Is the New Shit" is the second single off Marilyn Manson's album The Golden Age of Grotesque. It is seen as a poppy song, with several new industrial beats that Tim Skold added when he joined the band as the bassist in 2002. It was the most successful song off of "The Golden Age of Grotesque" following mOBSCENE. The UK release features the band's cover of The Geto Boys' "Mind of a Lunatic."
