Thiruvanmiyur

Thiruvanmiyur is a south-end place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Once unknown, this area is now an upcoming destination with Tidel Park being located nearby. The legendary Marundeeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is located here.
The area is easily accessible by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses and has a sprawling bus terminus. Bus Routes connecting Thiruvanmiyur and other places in Chennai are: 1, 1C, 1D, 6D, 22A, 29M, 41C, A47, 47D, 147, M1, M49, M7, and T51.
The main post office is located east of Lattice Bridge (LB) Road, around 100 meters before it meets Old Mahabalipuram Road. The two main theatres in the area are the Jayanthi and the Theyagaraja situated on the LB Road just north of the intersection with Tiruvalluvar Salai. Thiruvanmiyur Beach is becoming an attraction especially because of its calm and serene atmosphere - mainly due to less crowded conditions.
The beaches are calm and there is a pathway for walkers on the beach.
The beach line is 1 km from the ECR.
