Third Unitarian Church of Chicago

The Third Unitarian Church (TUC) is a progressive religious community that was founded in 1868 and is currently located in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. The congregants often refer to themselves as the "Tuckers."
The church building, built in 1936, is on the register of historic buildings in Chicago.
Notable ministers have been Rowena Morse (1911-1919), the first woman to receive a Ph.D. from a European university; Walton E. Cole (1928-1932), who opposed ultraconservative Father Coughlin over the radio; Edwin T. Buehler (1941-1969); Donald H. Wheat (1969-1996); and Michelle Bentley (1998-2002). The current minister, Brian Covell, was installed in 2004.
TUC is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
