Things That Eat Mung in the Night

Things That Eat Mung in the Night was the fourteenth episode and the first season finale of Cro. It first aired December 17, 1993.
[edit] Synopsis
The episode begins when Phil looks at himself in the mirror and thinks he is gaining weight. Mike suggests using the bathroom scale, and Phil does so, but he crushes it. This weight situation causes Phil to remember "another heavy problem that involved measurement a long time ago."
We then are taken back into Phil's flashback, where we first see the menacing dire wolves. Murray can't decide whether he's cold or hungry (Big Red tells him he is more stupid) and there is food under their own noses...the Neandies!
Ogg says that there is enough mung for the winter, but Nandy disagrees with him. Then, the dire wolves attack, but the Neandies fight back in a friendly cartoon way. Back at the Neanderthal cave, the 2 1/2 day argument between Ogg and Nandy continues and Phil gives a suggestion: Based on the height of the hole for winter mung, it is about three Oggs stacked on top of each other...and it's a perfect fit!
While the Neandies celebrate about having mung for the winter, the dire wolves scheme...and the Neanderthals find some of their mung missing and as Phil is coming to say good morning, he suggests that they weigh the mung, so they'll always know how much they have no matter what shape. And guess what? Ogg is used as a weight! The winter mung has 27 Oggs. Ogg, then, assigns the job of mung guarding to Bobb, because Bobb suggested that Ogg, himself, guard the mung. Bobb is afraid and wakees Ogg up and makes excuses of why he can't guard the mung, but Ogg doesn't fall for it.
Meanwhile, Dr. C decides to try to weigh Phil. First, Phil has to get on the scale and get the results, then, the weight must be distributed, followed by the totals being added. Phil makes the scales crash. And Mike has an idea to weigh Phil.
In the meantime, 45,000 years ago, Bobb cowars again and 16 Oggs of mung have been stolen, leaving 11 Oggs. Cro suggests to hide the mung in a hole in the cave. However, Ogg thinks that a guard is still needed, and he picks Bobb again, because he didn't get it right the first time. Ogg threatens Bobb with his club, causing the Neandies to move Ogg's bed near the mung and Bobb with the others.
The wolves try to take the mung again, but the Ogg rolls in his sleep and they all run away, leaving footprints on Ogg. Nandy thinks it was the...Big, Skinny Thing with Many, Many Legs! But it doesn't matter to Ogg, who forces Bobb into exile. Cro says that if he goes because Bobb goes; Nandy thinks Cro is a smart boy and thinks Ogg is a big weenie, Gogg agrees with her. Ogg is left, all by himself.
Gogg tells why Bobb is lonely; his old tribe either left him or got eaten and left Bobb alone. Bobb has sympathy for Ogg, who the Neandies did what his old tribe did to him. When Bobb comes back, Ogg at first confuses him for the Big, Skinny Thing With Many, Many Legs, but Bobb tells Ogg that he wants to keep him company. Cro and Nandy join them, so does Gogg, but just for the mung.
Then, the dire wolves attack, but Bobb pushes them out of the hole. Ogg brings Bobb back in, just in case the Big, Skinny Thing With Many, Many Legs returns, but Cro corrects him saying that the dire wolves left the footprints and took the mung.
At a public weigh station, Phil holds up the line of trucks and he is trying to fix it because he thinks it's out of alignment, but breaks it.
