[edit] UK COTW: Education in the United Kingdom
Just to let you know, an article you've voted for, has became this fortnight's UKCOTW - Education in the United Kingdom. Come and help out! Thanks, Francs2000 19:29, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] VFD on Islam and Slavery
Do you mind changing your vote to "Merge into religion and slavery" as that seems to be the place where most others want it merged? [1]

No, sorry. Feel free to take another one. I was never that much of a photographer ;) --Celestianpower hablamé 21:40, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] UK geography COTM
OK, so I finally found time for some Wikipeding (after about five months of Northumberland!) and have picked Nottinghamshire for the next COTM. I've added a to do list to the talk page and have already started work adding some of the basic data. Joe D (t) 04:32, 11 December 2005 (UTC) P.S. To stop receiving updates, unsubscribe at WP:UK geo.
Hi, the new COTM is Norfolk! Joe D (t) 23:08, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, this month's COTM is Dartmoor. I have added some suggestions to Talk:Dartmoor to get things started. Joe D (t) 01:04, 7 February 2006 (UTC) (P.S., if you don't want to continue getting COTM updates, just change your settings at WP:UK geo.)
The WP:UK geo collaboration of the month for October 2006 is Rutland. 80N 21:05, 1 October 2006 (UTC) (P.S., if you don't want to continue getting COTM updates, just change your settings at WP:UK geo.)
[edit] Thanks for your RFA support
Hi Thelb4! I have been on a refreshing wikibreak for the last week, so this is a belated thank-you for supporting my adminship nomination. While your recent RFA nomination didn't succeed, I hope to see you becoming a more active and experienced Wikipedian and someday soon given the mop. In the meantime, feel free to pop by if you need a hand. Happy New Year (if that's your kind of thing)! jnothman talk 18:26, 31 December 2005 (UTC) |
[edit] Arrondissement of Brignoles
Hi, The source files for these are actually quite short, but it looks like something in the pywiki upload is space padding lines out to about 500 chars. I'll have a look and see if there's an automated way of trimming. Dlyons493 Talk 21:18, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- This happened in the upload on apparently random articles (don't know why!). I've worked out a way of fixing them and have started getting them back to the correct size. Dlyons493 Talk
[edit] Doctor Who Template
You have created several articles in the main namespace that use your template at User:Thelb4/doctor-serials-cat. This is considered a cross-namespace link and is unacceptable per Wikipedia policy. Please move the template to the Template namespace and edit the places where it's transcluded to point to the new location. Thank you. --Pascal666 19:43, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Rome dot.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Rome dot.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Rome-dot
I uploaded a new version of Image:Rome dot.png, highlighting Italy. OrphanBot then told me it had no source information. I have reverted to the previous version. But I originally saw that it was GFDL, and that I could modify it. So I did. What's happening? --Thelb4 09:24, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- The {{GFDL}} tag only specifies the copyright status, not the source. In general, GFDL images need sufficient source information that the GFDL status can be verified. In this case, the image was generated either by User:Lupin or his bot, so the correct tag would be {{GFDL-self}}, which provides both source and copyright status. --Carnildo 04:42, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello
I noticed that you have been able to modify your signature to display "Thelb" in green lettering, while also adding a link for you talk page. Can you please tell me how I can modify the formatting as such? I do not know exactly what codes should be used within that option in "My Preferences". How can I also add the link for my discussion page? Thank you. Matt (mcshadypl) 01:50, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:WHMT
Hello. You may or may not remember this, but some time ago you signed up for a Hangman Tournament hosted here on Wikipedia.
For some reason or another, you were placed on the "potential players" list.
The next tournament is about to start, and I was just wondering if you were still interested in participating. If you are, please go to the page (linked above) and bold your name in the sign-up list. This will confirm your registration, and move you to the next slot on the waiting list. If you are not interested any more, please feel free to remove your name from the list. If you haven't responded within 7 days, I will assume you are not interested, and remove you from the list. However, if you are too busy, go to the page anyway and renew your "busy" notice. This shows that you are still interested in the tournament, but still are to busy to participate at this time.
If you think anyone else may be interested in this tournament, please drop them a note and ask them to sign up. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the tournament! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:57, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: references
I did not realize at the time that you were in the middle of a project, as you made no note of that anywhere. I implied what you did as a good idea on paper, btu really kinda unnecessary since it's easier to reach the obituaries from the current method. My apologies if I caused a problem. If it's really that much of a problem than you can go back in the edits and get them and throw them back in. --Wizardman 04:17, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Simona01maria.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Simona01maria.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 22:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
