[edit] Union Jack
Hi, Thanks for changing the "Union Jack" vs. "Union Flag" error on my user page. I never knew there was a disinction. Thanks, --Gpyoung talk 21:09, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Crossing a flag
I would like to ask you not to cross an official flag on your user page. Imagine someone did that to your country. This is even considered a crime in many countries. I just regard that as bad manners. I am sure you are able to express your reasonable opinion in a respectful way. Many countries had to work hard to join the EU. ROGNNTUDJUU! 20:42, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- Don't spam me please. I have as much right to show my opinions as anyone. thegreatloofa (talk) 01:14, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- The image violated wikipedia policy and was speedy deleted. ROGNNTUDJUU! 01:31, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- In that case can you point me to when it was deleted as it is does not conform to the criteria for speedy deletion as far as I can tell and so must have been deleted erroneously. Please clarify. thegreatloofa (talk) 02:07, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- It must have been deleted tonight. Criterion for templates is divisive and inflammatory and it clearly applys for crossing out an official symbol. Imagine someone did that to the flags of the US or UK or the United Arab Emirates - also unions. ROGNNTUDJUU! 02:21, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please be more patient next time. I only delete marking answered when I am one click before answering. ROGNNTUDJUU! 02:23, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- I presume you are refering to CSD T1 which applys to templates, not images. The CSDs for them are very different. thegreatloofa (talk) 02:30, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- The image was only there to be used in a template that had already been deleted but was recreated on users' talk pages. I did not delete the image and do not care who would be the person to ask as it was clearly divisive and not useful for keeping up a good encyclopedia in any way. ROGNNTUDJUU! 02:37, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

- Nevertheless, the template is staying with or without the image. I couldn't care less if any flag or symbol was crossed out, it is the person who did its right to do so. I'm British and if you burnt my flag (or crossed it out) it would not bother me, I would love my country all the same. All you would of accomplished is the creation of a pile of ashes. - thegreatloofa (talk) 02:54, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Just try to respect the feelings of others just as you would expect them to respect yours - whatever would be offensive in your eyes. ROGNNTUDJUU! 03:02, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- There is such thing as ignoring something. Why dont you respect my feelings on this matter. If I want a picture of an EU flag crossed out in a light hearted userbox I should be able to. Wikipedia is not censored. -- thegreatloofa (talk) 03:14, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Get over it. If I felt like burning your legs, would that be ok to you? Where is the boundary? Just respect others. ROGNNTUDJUU! 03:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

- Me get over it? At the risk of sounding childish, you started this with your unprovoked spam onto mine and other talk pages. And yes, you can want to burn my legs as much as you like. It doesn't affect me. You can even draw a picture of my legs on fire if you want and post it on your userpage. Do whatever the heck you want, just let me express my opinions. You can not like people crossing out flags all you want, but don't impose your views on me. I didn't come onto everyone's talk page who didn't have the image on and say "I would like to ask you to cross out an official flag on your user page. Imagine someone did that to your country. This is even considered normal in many countries. I just regard that as good manners. I am sure you are able to express your reasonable opinion in a respectful way. Many countries had to work hard to oppose the EU." -- thegreatloofa (talk) 03:42, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

- May I suggest that you get some sleep? The picture was found divisive and not helpful to writing an encyclopedia. Period. ROGNNTUDJUU! 03:57, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- And what you've done since registering has been helpful? All you've done is to spam a load of people and got them aggravated. Also as I have said before devisiveness is not a criteria for speedy deletion when regarding images. -- thegreatloofa (talk) 04:07, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Forget it. There is no way this converstion is going to go anywhere other than in circles and I have better things to do. I think the image is fine, you do not. Please don't reply again about this topic, I'm finished with it. -- thegreatloofa (talk) 04:11, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

- Why do you ask questions if you want no answers. Just look at my contributions to see what I have done. Nothing as useless as crossing flags. ROGNNTUDJUU! 04:23, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Electric Marbles.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Electric Marbles.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 10:46, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Garden Snail In Tub.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Garden Snail In Tub.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 22:55, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brighouse crest
Hello, I was wondering if I could copy the code, for the brighouse crest, so I can have it on my name too :)? I thought it'd be best to ask first so..
Thanks Jake 15:17, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, the image is for anyone to use and the more Brighouse-ians on Wikipedia the better! thegreatloofa(talk) 10:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
