[edit] Image Tagging Image:Adolfo Mateos.gif

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Adolfo Mateos.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 17:15, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Ok, my bad it does say who created it, however I seriously doubht it's in the public domain as you claim. Please add a compelling explanation of why it would be public domain (having permission to use it in the article does not make it PD (see Wikipedia:Public domain). --Sherool (talk) 05:18, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Err correction, the abowe image does not spesify a source, I was refering to Image:Giovanni Agnelli.gif where you reverted my edit. --Sherool (talk) 05:19, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
It says right on the page that they gave me permission. I'm adding a {{PD-release}} tag to it.--The Cid 06:05, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
And by permission you mean that they told you that it's ok for anyone to modify, re-distribute, sell and otherwise do whatever they want with the picture? Or did they simply say that it was ok to display the picture in the article. There is a significant difference between the two you see and the current license tag indicate the former (anyone can do whatever they want with it, no strings attached), while the "with permission" statement is ambigous. If they rely did release all rights to the image that's great, but please include a bit more info on the nature of the release on the image page (see Wikipedia:Confirmation of permission), otherwise it's likely that other people will confuse it with a simple "by permission" license and Wikipedia does not allow content that can be used with only with permission (because our goal is to create free content that anyone can re-use, and a permission to use something on Wikipedia would not transfer to any 3. parties), see http://mail.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikien-l/2005-May/023760.html Anoying as it is we need to be as clear and correct about copyrights as possible, so please expand a bit on what you mean with "permission" in this case (permission to use or permission to distrubute freely to anyone, and if it's the later please follow the steps on Wikipedia:Confirmation of permission). Thanks and sorry for the trouble. --Sherool (talk) 10:58, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
The former is true. I will correct the page further to note this.--The Cid 08:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
