[edit] Suncorp Stadium

Hi Brain of Morbius I am following up on a change you made to the Brisbane page. You reverted my change of the official name of Suncorp Stadium. Below I have provided a link to the official reds website that states that Suncorp Stadium is the official name of the stadium. I was unable to find any references citing the official name as Lang Park as stated in your updates. http://www.qru.com.au/qld/qld.rugby/page/754

The following text was taken from the web page: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane Venue Details

Official Name: Suncorp Stadium Sports: Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer Location: Brisbane, Queensland, AUS Opened: 2003 (June) Capacity: 52,500

Other Information The old Lang Park ground was predominantly the home of rugby league in Queensland from 1957 into the 1990s, when the first stage of the current Suncorp Stadium was built, enabling it to accommodate major events including rugby Test matches. A more extensive re-development was undertaken in 2001 and completed in 2003 - at a cost of AUD$280million - to allow the venue to accommodate Rugby World Cup 2003 fixtures. [edit] Mark Williams

A disambiguation page for the various Mark Williamses of the world sound like a good idea - go ahead! --Auximines 11:43, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)

[edit] minor edits

minor edits are meant for simple changes to spelling and formatting and grammar and syntax. if you are adding or removing content, link adding someone being born on a particular day, please do not mark that as minor.

the reason is that some people have their settings set so that minor edits don't come up in their searches.

[edit] AFL articles

It's great to see someone finally dedicating some attention to fixing these up - they certainly need it. I tried to fix up some of the worst ones around the time of the Brownlow last year, but I really didn't have the interest to do much more of it. Ambi 22:23, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

No worries. It'd be great to see more AFL content on here. My personal bias is towards Brisbane (and Bears/Fitzroy) so I'll be concentrating on those. I can't see too many others interested at the moment, otherwise I'd suggest an AFL wikiproject might be in order.--The Brain of Morbius 00:07, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

Where was that AFL player infobox? I'd like to have a look and see if it could be adapted, or if it's necessary (not that many biographies seem to have infoboxes, as far as I recall).

Have you thought about creating an infobox for teams? It'd be really nice to have one we could use for all Australian sports, and AFL wouldn't be a bad place to start - I'm happy to help with filling it out for all teams if you're interested.

It'd be nice to see some of the Australian articles getting up to the standard of say, Manchester United - I'd really love to get an Australian version of those templates at the bottom, too, as that'd be quite useful. Ambi 12:30, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Mark Williams

I created a disambiguation page. If you're up for correcting the links that should go to the snooker player's article, go ahead. I don't really have the time to do it at the moment. Thanks. Harro5 04:02, Jun 11, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jack Worrall

Hi, I just created a stub article on Jack Worrall, the cricketer, for the WP:Cricket project I'm working on. I noticed there was a Fitzroy player of the same name and around the same era and am wondering if it's the same person. Would you happen to know? -- Iantalk 09:23, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aussie rules project

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't really have time at the moment, just as I haven't joined the cricket one. Maybe in a year or two. Grant65 (Talk) 11:51, 26 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sydnew Swans

I completely agree with The Brain about the the correct placing being 1, not 3, but it is the whole table that is incorrect in this regard, not just the 2005 result (see the 1996 result, for example). Where did you get those figures from, JLC? JPD 08:52, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AFL Queensland

G;day. I am currently working on the AFL Qld pages. What I have noticed is that

(a) There don't appear to be any sources. I would like to work on this so we can add Wikipedia:Verifiability in line with policy.

(b) Although the article title is AFL Queensland (which is the organising body), most of this article is about the history of AFL in Queensland. Accordingly I have made an Australian Rules in Queensland page onto which we can put this history (and expand it). Also, I would like to expand the AFL Queensland page to have more info pertaining to the body (which as you can see is much more scant without the history).

As I said above there don't appear to be sources on these pages , so I am actively searching some out so I can expand these pages. I see that you have written a number of AFL related articles. Would you be able to point me in the right direction source-wise, so we can make these top notch pages?

Cheers, Dan --dan, dan and dan 00:07, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AFL INFOBOX template

Check out the Andrew Mackie page and you will notice a flaw in the image. How can this be fixed in the {{Infobox afl player}} template? Rogerthat 10:21, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Not at all, it's the fact that the image on Andrew Mackie is around 100px, whereas the Afl Infobox seems to restrict the image to 200px, therefore making the Mackie image look pixelated (same with the Kevin Sheedy image).
Keep up the good work, also I noticed you're not a member of WikiProject AFL. Care to join? Rogerthat 11:49, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Any word on that last comment by me Morbo (if I can call you that ;))? Also with the infoboxes is there anyway to make the player automatically fall under a category (eg Craig Burrows would automatically fall under Category:Fremantle Dockers players if you filled that in as one of his teams?). Cheers, Rogerthat 00:24, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Morbo, there's been no reply from you mate...Let us know when you come back from your hiatus mate. Cheers, Rogerthat Talk 10:30, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
I noticed the same image problem with Colin Watson I tried downsizing to 140 pixels of the original as the default size in the template seems to be 200. I tried using
"image name = [[Image:Colin_Watson.jpg|140px]]"
and although the image is resized down correctly, there is text around the picture. I also tried copying the syntax at the St Kilda Football Club article but that didn't work. Any clues?? thanks. Diverman 13:00, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jason Akermanis

Hi! I just noticed you categorised Jason Akermanis as a Greek Australian. I was just wondering if you have any sources for this information? --The Brain of Morbius 03:54, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi!! I corrected the page. I couldn't figure out what his last name was, Greek, Latvian, or whatever and just came across the correct info. Its Latvian but his not. Although his biological dad's last name "Dezdjek" is either Croatian or Slovakian if I'm not mistaken.  :) ~~Mallaccaos, 24 March 2006
