[edit] NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

Hi TheFEARgod, As I get the impression that there is an edit war unfolding, I took the liberty to jump in. I have edited the infobox to quote directly from the NATO press statement. Please note that the Casus Belli implies that "a government [needs] to demonstrate that it was going to war only as a last resort", therefore the non-acceptance of the Rambouillet terms is the casus belli, that what ultimately led to the war unfolding. [edit] Somalia

I did not "rush" into making it, I have been actively following the progression of the conflict since the battle of Mogadishu and have been surprised that Wikipedia has not covered the event. The article should not be merged into the civil war article any more than the US war in Afghanistan should or the Soviet war in afghanistan should. These are seperate wars or conflicts within a state of civil war, you might call them phases. Just like Afghanistan, this is a seperate phase in the conflict going on in Somalia. So many people are comparing it to Afghanistan to justify a merge, but this is a false justification as the comparison works in favor of keeping the article. The only "rushing" that occured was 8 minutes after the article was first created, and during my efforts to assemble information, it was put up for deletion without any discussion, halting any improvements and making me now have to discuss its deletion rather than add content. People are too eager to jump on others, and seeing the way discussion is going there is really no reason for me to continue to state my case and explain why it deserves its own article. A quick search for the conflict shows most news sources calling it either the Somali or Somalian war, hence the name choice, though obviously it could be moved if someone has a better idea. ~Rangeley (talk) 20:49, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TfD nomination of Template:Arab-Israeli conflict 2006

Template:Arab-Israeli conflict 2006 has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. TewfikTalk 16:36, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Of course. While I obviously don't agree that it should exist, as the creator, you are at minimum deserving of the ability to present your rationale. After all, we are all here for the same goal - to improve the encyclopaedia. Cheers, TewfikTalk 16:41, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Terrorism in Kazakhstan

On 7 November 2006 you proposed that the article entitled Terrorism in Kazakhstan be renamed Terrorism and Kazakhstan. Initially I disagreed as this would go against the naming style currently used by most terrorism + country articles. However, now that the article has gotten quite lengthy I think it is time to split it into several articles. What do you think about keeping the section "Banned terrorist organizations" as the Terrorism in Kazakhstan page and splitting the rest of the article into Counter-terrorism in Kazakhstan? The section on "Cooperation with the United States" could possibly also be split. KazakhPol 05:49, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback and the template example. KazakhPol 18:05, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Chad

I'm a member to WikiProject Chad, and was interested to know if you would like to partecipate to the WikiProject: I've noted your work on the many conflicts involving Chad, and you seem to have an interest for the country and the region. Also, if you have something to ask concerning Chad, don't be afraid to ask me: I doubt there is anybody regularly in wikipedia that has read more on the country than me. [edit] Хвала

Thanks for the barnstar, it has been very frustrating recently detailing with certain users, along with some editors who I really respected deciding to quit Wikipedia, I was considering doing the same. You've convinced me to stick around a bit longer though ;) // Laughing Man 00:48, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Xvala for what

Are you from croatia or where, pricas hrvatski? How much? But stop vandalizing other pages. I suggest you learn how to reply and resolve the problem, since you can not, what is this, you only add who signed it... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.107.2.62 (talk)

[edit] Fair use Images

You might want to double check [1], policy number 9 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.12.249.63 (talkcontribs) 13:21, 3 December 2006 (UTC).

Please do not remove the copyvio tag, It is there so an administrator can determine wether or not you are required to comply with the official Wikipedia policy, shown below,
Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. They should be linked, not inlined, from talk pages when they are the topic of discussion. This is because it is the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation to allow an unfree image only if no free alternative exists and only if it significantly improves the article it is included on. All other uses, even if legal under the fair use clauses of copyright law, should be avoided to keep the use of unfree images to a minimum. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if there is a broad consensus that doing so is necessary to the goal of creating a free encyclopedia (like the templates used as part of the Main Page).
accessed from Wikipedia:Fair_use#Fair_use_policy, section policy, bullet point 9
I will leave the image on your talk page until the matter has been adjudicated on 86.12.249.63 21:27, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
The anonymous user is correct. You should not use a fair use image in an user box, as per the policy quoted above. I have removed it. Sandstein 21:34, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

I read your edits on battle of malakal today and wondered whether you would be interested in joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/African military history task force. Greatings Wandalstouring 11:07, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Libyan-Chadian war

Hi Feargod, I wanted to thank you for your efforts regarding Chadian history, and in particular for Libyan-Chadian War; I hope too expand it soon, but first I'm waiting for Nolutshungu's history of the Chadian civil war, Limits of anarchy, to arrive from the USA. In the meanwhile, I noted you reverted my last edit; could you explain me your objections? Thanks, and ciao--Aldux 13:58, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

That was dumb, thanks for correcting.--Aldux 14:14, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
