I am Jane, and I am a n00b. Please don't hurt me.

I'm 15, live in Glasgow and have far too much time and a very messy bedroom.

Anyway I will write a longer bio later but by now it is longer than the userboxes (SHOCK!) so maybe I'll be less verbose.

[edit] Instruments I play

I am not an advanced kazoo player, I lied. In fact I don't have one anymore, but that will be rectified I am sure. As far as the other instruments are concerned:

• Flute: ABRSM grade 7-ish,
• Piano: Working to ABRSM grade 6,
• Recorder: I'm not a novice, like primary school novice, but I don't take lessons and my technique isn't bad. I play primarily descant, then treble and a bit of sopranino.
• Acoustic Guitar: I'm self-taught and only read tabs, and have small hands to boot. Acoustic but I could be persuaded into the world of confusing buttons and twiddly things.
• Voice: I'm not bad but not brave enough to have a userbox for it :D My range sucks, it's about from the E below middle C to the B above middle C. Restrictive.

As a flute player and a fairly decent one at that, I'm in several bands and orchestras:

• East Dunbartonshire Secondary Schools Concert Band and Orchestra
• Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust (Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Band)

In the past I have played in the East Dunbartonshire Primary Schools Orchestra and Training Orchestra, and in the future I hope to play with the West of Scotland Secondary Schools Orchestra or Concert Band. With these orchestras I have played a lot of standard orchestral repertoire, including:

• Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony
• Robin Wedderburn's "Fantasy" - a commission for SScOT, which I played the flute solo in the world premiere!
• Bizet's Carmen Suite no. 1
• Shostakovich's 5th Symphony
• Khatchaturian's Masquerade Suite
• Nicolai's Merry Wives of Windsor Overture.

As a solo flautist I have developed a liking for Otar Taktakishvili, Francis Poulenc and Quantz, among others. My favourite piano repertoire, although limited, includes Grieg, Ludovico Einaudi and George Winston.

I'm reasonably open minded when it comes to music, I'll listen to most stuff except ned and bam music. I like most types of rock, and a bit of metal, some indietronica and some of the more classical chillout stuff like Kinobe and Jon Hopkins.

Not much about dancing I suppose, I am BBO Intermediate Foundation level in Ballet, and I stopped doing Tap but got to BBO grade 5. My roles in the past include Cinderella and my future roles will include the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Proud owner of 3 ex-pairs and one good pair of pointe shoes! (All Bloch, if anyone cares).

Reading sleeping eating internetting origami embroidery yada yada yada. I'll finish this later, it's 01.20am and I'm wearing quite an expensive linen dress.
