Thea Gill

Thea Louise Gill, (first name pronounced [TAY-uh]) born April 5, 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia is a Canadian actress best known for her starring role as Lindsay Peterson on the hit Showtime show Queer as Folk.
As a child, Gill lived in Vancouver and attended an all girls' private school there for twelve years. After graduating from the private school, Gill attended university at York University in Toronto, Ontario. Gill graduated from York University in 1992 with a BFA Honors in Theatre Performance. During her time at York Unversity, she met her future husband, theatre director and academic, Brian Richmond. After graduating from York, Gill lived in Toronto and spent the next several years working in theatre, guest roles in television series, commercials, and some film roles. Also a talented jazz singer, Gill worked as the Midsummer Lounge's featured act onboard the Mediterranean and Caribbean cruise ship M.S. Carousel.
Gill's big break came in 2000 when she auditioned for and received the role of Lindsay Peterson in Queer as Folk. Gill held this role for the five season run of Queer as Folk. With the conclusion of Queer as Folk in 2005, Gill continues her work in theatre, television, and film roles. In 2006 she joined the cast of the here!tv original series Dante's Cove, billed as a "special guest star" in the role of Diana Childs.

Gill is married to Brian Richmond. She has made statements in interviews that have been interpreted as indicating that she considers herself bisexual.[1] Gill lives in Victoria, British Columbia and has two step-children and two step-grandchildren.

When asked about playing a lesbian she said, "Personally, I don't see it as very much of a stretch for me. I really don't! A lot of people interpret this as bisexuality, and it could be." She said in Curve magazine, "On a human and an emotional level, I find that the line is very thin between gay and straight and bisexual. To me it's all love." [2]
