The Wiggle

The Wiggle is a famous bike route in San Francisco, California that avoids steep grades. The path follows the route of the old Sans Souci Valley and cuts diagonally across Lower Haight. The Wiggle begins at the Duboce Bikeway on Market Street and then moves in a zig-zag up Steiner, Waller, Pierce, Haight, Scott, and Fell Street to the Panhandle Bikeway through a nearly flat route between several large hills. In this region, many adjacent streets have dramatically sharper grades than the streets that comprise the Wiggle route.

The Wiggle route forms a part of San Francisco bike route 30. It can be used to connect The Castro and Mission District by bicycle to the Panhandle, Golden Gate Park, and the Richmond and Sunset Districts.
