The West Wind is Cranston High School West's award-winning, student-produced newspaper. It usually features 8 issues per school year, one for each month, though September and October are combined into one issue, as well as May and June. The paper has earned awards from the Providence Journal as well as the New England Scholastic Press Association.

The West Watch is West's online news broadcast. Started in 2005, the West Watch received a first place award as best broadcast at the NESPA conference. In addition, it also won several individual achievement awards.
