The Way Up is the Grammy award winning thirteenth album by the Pat Metheny Group, released in 2005. The album consists of four, continuously flowing tracks, two surpassing 20 minutes in length and each keeping various similar themes. The album is a showcase for the band's ability in solo improvisation and dynamics.
