The Waterhorse

The Waterhorse is a film due in 2007 directed by Jay Russell based on the screenplay by Robert Nelson Jacobs and the novel by Dick-King Smith.
Set in the 1930s, a girl named Kirstie and her brother, Angus, discover an egg after a storm and take it home. To their surprise this egg hatches into a kind sea monster they name Crusoe. It grows, until finally it is too big to live anywhere but in nearby Loch Ness.

Special effects on the movie are courtesy Weta Digital. The movie is currently filming and will be released next year. This film has replaced The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian as Disney and Walden Media's Christmas 2007 release. Caspian, due to scheduling overruns, has been moved to summer, 2008.
