The View from Saturday is a book by E. L. Konigsburg which won the Newbery Medal in 1997. It documents the story of four 6th grade children, Noah, Nadia, Ethan, and Julian, along with their paraplegic teacher, Mrs. Olinski, as they form a group they call "The Souls" and make their way to the New York State Academic Bowl Championship. They learn many facts as well as things about themselves as they complete journeys. They had tea to learn more about each other. The text is organized into alternating chapters of third person omniscient narrative and first person stories by each of the children.
