The Valley Today

The Valley Today is a Canadian daily newspaper published in Windsor, Nova Scotia covering communities in Hants and Digby counties as well as the Annapolis Valley counties of Annapolis and Kings, for which the newspaper is named.

The Valley Today began publishing on Monday, October 16, 2006 and is privately owned by an investor group led by former London Free Press and Maclean Hunter correspondent Jim White. Julie Carl is Managing Editor (she was a nominee for the Michener Award and the National Newspaper Association Award (NNA), winner of the Wyse International Peace Medal). The paper is published as an evening paper with initial distribution being 10,000 copies at 40 pages in size, with plans to expand to 15,000-20,000 copies in 6 months. Its motto is "Independent Voice of the Valley" and it will be printed at the new press plant operated by the Halifax Chronicle-Herald in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
