[edit] Plot
Perplexed by the Akuma's departure, Allen and Lenalee head back to Miranda's house. On the way back, they hear some children singing a song which mocks Miranda's failure to keep a job. When the two exorcists enter Miranda's room, she panics and accidentally drops a key. Lenalee recognizes it as a key to wind up a clock so Miranda explains how she comes about it. Since she was a child, Miranda could not do anything right. As an adult, she would always get fired from every job she held due to her clumsiness. One day, she was walking down the street when she noticed a clock and became interested in it. The store owner explained that it did not work and gave her the key to prove. When Miranda turned the key, the clock started to work so the owner offered to give it to her. Since then, Miranda believes that the clock is her prized possession because both are considered "worthless." After hearing her story, Allen asks her to help them figure out the strange occurrence. For the rest of the day, they follow Miranda's schedule but find nothing strange - until it reaches midnight. Miranda suddenly goes to bed and falls asleep. As Allen and Lenalee watch, clock faces appear everywhere in town and are then sucked into the clock, almost dragging the two exorcists along with them. When it is all over, morning has arrived, and Miranda wakes up with no idea what just happened. After inspecting the clock, Allen concludes that Miranda is the only one who can touch the clock and that it is probably the Innocence that is causing the trouble. Lenalee then asks Miranda to recall what happened on November 28th. The woman recalled getting fired for the 100th time. Defeated and drunk, she wished that tomorrow never come. Allen and Lenalee believe that the Innocence granted Miranda's wish while the latter also suspects Miranda may be compatible to the Innocence. In order to stop the day from repeating, they conclude that Miranda must find a job and keep it successfully.
After three days of getting fired, they finally get a job working as street performers. The boss is impressed by Allen and Miranda and even considers hiring them as full-time employees. Overjoyed, they take a break from selling tickets. While they are relaxing, Allen is visited by Lenalee who is impressed by his arcobatic talents. He explains that he used to be a clown and that his foster parent taught him these tricks. Even though they were poor, they were happy. Lenalee admits that she is jealous of Allen and explains why. When she was very young, her parents was killed by an Akuma and she was taken away by the Black Order as soon it was discovered that she was an Accommodator. At first, she hated being at Headquarters because she was not allowed to see her brother and the outside world. When her brother joined the Black Order in order to be with her, Lenalee decided to fight for his sake. Touched by their stories, Miranda promises to do her best and leaves to do her job. Road then arrives and asks Allen for a ticket. Suddenly, they hear a commotion and find out that someone stole the money from Miranda. She points out the pickpocket so Allen and Lenalee give chase. While they are gone, Miranda's potential boss calls her "useless." Upset, the unlucky woman accidentally blurts out that her clock is the Innocence to an interested Road. During this time, the two exorcists corner the pickpocket but realize it was an ambush when he transforms into an Akuma. The rest of the Akuma appear and quickly defeat them. When Allen wakes up, he finds himself not able to move due to his left arm being nailed to the wall. He also notices Miranda is chained to her clock but is alarmed to see a seemingly lifeless Lenalee next to Road. Using his left eye, he is bewildered to discover that the girl is not an Akuma. Road explains that she is a human who befriends the Akuma and that the Earl is her sibling. She claims that her group is the chosen ones - the true apostles chosen by God. They are called "The Noah's family."
