The Universal Event was the name given to the massive earthquake, centered at the island of Crete, that affected the whole of the Mediterranean Sea in July of 365 A.D. In terms of human history it was the largest earthquake to ever affect the Mediterranean. As a trading power Crete was destroyed, Roman buildings in Sicily, Libya, and Alexandria were all affected by the catastrophe.
