The Trix (Winx Club)

The Trix (or The Senior Witches) are a group of antagonists in the fictional series Winx Club. They consist of three teenage witches - Icy, their leader, Darcy, and Stormy. For most of the first season, they attend the Witch school Cloud Tower.

Icy: A young witch described as having a "Heart of Ice" (cuore di ghiaccio). As the eldest and most powerful sister, she is the ruthless leader of the Trix and wishes to rule the universe. The name Icy suits her perfectly, describing her powers and her general personality. She is cruel for the sake of being cruel, viciously ridiculing people she doesn't approve of. She attacks victims with freezing rays and snow storms. Icy hates the fairies of Alfea to a huge extent, misguided by Ms. Griffin. The witch's antics mainly targets breaking into Alfea and casting some sort of spell such as a curse or hex. Monsters that she has controlled include Ogres, Minotaurs, Trolls and a Nightmare Gargoyle. Lisa Ortiz voices Icy in the 4kids version.

Icy's powers come from dead planets. They are mainly used in the form of snow or ice. She is seen to have the following powers, unnamed in the original show, but named as below in the 4kids dub:
- Ice Coffin: can entrap an item or object in ice
- Temper Freeze: It is seen in episodes that she can freeze with her emotions
- Ice Spikes: In one episode she can make spikes with her ice
- Wisperian Crystal: Icy's Wisperian Crystal is shaped like a dagger. This is probably because she is a warlike person
- Ice Crusher:A Huge chunk of ice builds up next to an object, and the chunk of ice grows until the thin piece of ice holding it up breaks. Then the chunk of ice falls on the object and crushes it.

Darcy: A young witch described as the "Lady of Darkness" (signora dell'oscurità). She is more calm and competent than her sisters. Devious and manipulative, Darcy uses subtle dark magic and illusions to confuse and control opponents. She is good at discovering weaknesses and exploiting them. Caren Manuel voices Darcy in the 4kids version, and Carrie Finlay in the original English version. Darcy's birthday is given as November 26 in the 4KIDS dub (due to the fact that the episode in which it gets announced, "Truth or Dare", first played on that day).[1]

Darcy has demonstrated the power of confusion (as seen in Season One's The Day Of The Rose). She also has been seen to have hypnotic powers.
[edit] Appearance
Darcy in her normal outfit consists of a purple top, purple bell-bottoms, and sunglasses. Her witch outfit is the same color, but it's more like a bodysuit with no sleeves, and capri-style pants. Accessories include light purple gloves, ankle boots that are the same color as her witch outfit, and a choker that forms a "D" at her belt. Continuing the purple accessories, Darcy wears eye makeup in her witch outfit.

Her powers are of darkness and her magic commonly is seen as purple rings. Her powers are widely displayed in the seventh episode of the first season The Day Of The Rose, here it is revealed that she can hypnotize people such as Riven. In the episode Army Of Decay is shown that she can create vortexes and make rooms turn into darkness (this is due to the fact that her powers were powered by the Dragonfire at the time.) In The Day Of The Rose she hypnotizes Riven, a Red Fountain boy. Their relationship was in the arc until the witches obtained the Dragon fire. Riven was a spy for Darcy and got information about Bloom for the witches. He, for most of the Decay arc, was prisoner in Cloud Tower.

Stormy: A young witch (she's the youngest of the Trix) described as the "Queen of Storms" (regina delle tempeste). Her temper matches her name; Stormy is extremely proud, ill-tempered and is somewhat immature. Stormy is known for her frizzy hair. She secretly believes herself to be stronger than Icy but this is unlikely. Like her name also suggests, Stormy creates and controls storms.She draws her powers from centuries of fighting and conflict. Her most used techniques consists of creating air pockets, direct lighting, tornadoes, double tornadoes, and eyes of hurricanes. Her most devastating attack is the "Psycho-clone" a move in which she spins at a high speed creating a tornado with a scale of F-5. (Although in the second season she summons it like she summons most of her tornado attacks.) Suzy Myers voices Stormy in the 4kids version, and Sarah McCullough in the original English version.
- Stormy wears a light purple dress and has frizzy purple-blue hair.
In the second season, Stormy seems to hold a grudge against Musa, and confronts her in several episodes, leading to a showdown.
