The Teen Idles was a hardcore punk band that existed only for about 14 months. Jeff Nelson and Ian MacKaye formed the band as well as Dischord Records, revolutionizing the Washington DC music scene and setting the stage for the formation of Minor Threat and the inadvertent development of the straight edge movement. The Teen Idles were the first band on Dischord Records.
