The Sunday Surgery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sunday Surgery is a British radio show that airs on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday evenings from 10pm - 12am and is presented by Letitia, Dr Mark, Briggy and Stuart. It began with Sara Cox in 1999, then was joint-hosted by Emma B. The female presenters often have slightly croaky voices. Dr Mark is a registrar at the A & E section of Hope Hospital in Eccles, near Manchester.

Listeners are given advice to problems in certain areas of their life, mostly for notorious adolescent problems, and other listeners get to share their experiences and advice and also are allowed to give their point of view. It is similar to problem pages found in teenage girls magazines. They also have done road shows and have weeks specifically dedicated to one subject, often a type of addictive behaviour or dependency.
