The Southsea Queen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Southsea Queen (AKA: Hythe Hotspur) was a vessel owned by the Gosport Ferry Company Ltd and White Horse Ferries Ltd. It was built by Thornycrofts of Woolston.

[edit] History

The vessel was built in 1974 as an excursion vessel like the Solent Enterprise. However it proved to small for its job and was sold to White Horse Ferries Ltd for use on its Hythe Ferry service just four years later. It was repained from its green with red band livery to a red and white livery. It was also renamed to Hythe Hotspur. It lasted here until 1995.
