The Sound of Girls Aloud is a "greatest hits" anthology by British girl band Girls Aloud. It was released in the UK on October 30, 2006, and went straight into the UK album charts at #1 - Girls Aloud's first ever #1 album - selling 84,000 copies in its first week of sale.

The album includes all of Girls Aloud's singles to date and three new tracks, including the new single "Something Kinda Ooooh". There is also a limited edition bonus disc, featuring unreleased songs, demos and other material.

The album's cover contains an error, in that the Irish flag on the cover of the album is the wrong way round, and actually shows the flag of the Ivory Coast. It was also included to reflect the nationality of Nadine Coyle - even though she is British, as her hometown is Derry in Northern Ireland, but as she is Catholic, she recognises the Republic flag.

The 2CD edition contains quite a significant error in spelling. Each of the 13 singles chart positions have been incorrectly spelt as 'postion. Both CD versions also contain a mistake for See The Day - the writing credits are incorrect, as is the release date.

Since it's release, the album has sold 401,525 copies as of week 6.
