The Sorcerer's Hat is the icon of the Disney-MGM Studios park in Walt Disney World Resort. The Earful Tower was the previous icon of this park. Underneath the hat is a gift shop. Disney characters also come to the area around the hat to pose for pictures with guests. The parades that occur in this park go through the plaza containing the hat. Similar to the other Disney icons, it is one of the first things that you see when you walk into the park. The hat was put in place for the 100 Years of Magic celebration in 2001. It was originally a kiosk stop with trivia about Walt Disney's life. Then after 2002 it was converted into a pin station, the main one at Disney's MGM Studios.
