The Slammer

The Slammer is a CBBC children's television series, currently broadcast on Fridays at 4:55pm on BBC One.
The show is set in a fictional prison in which various acts have to perform to an audience of children in order to be released. The show usually starts with 5-10 minutes of story which normally relates to one or two of the performers. After this, the performances begins. In between each performance, the Governor played by Ted Robbins and a security guard Mr Burgess would ask a few children on their thoughts. The main characters are Puppeteers Peter Nokio and Melvin Odoom, The Governor, Mr Burgess and Jeremy Gimbert.
The supporting cast of the childrens programme Dick and Dom in da Bungalow appear in The Slammer including: Lee Barnett, Dave Chapman, Ian Kirkby and Melvin Odoom.
Famous acts that have appeared on the show have included Keith Harris and Orville and McFly.
