The Sirian Experiments

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sirian experiments is the third in the Canopus in Argos series of unconventional SF novels written by Doris Lessing. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1981. Its themes and principles are very different from typical space opera.

Shikasta, the first book in the series, gives an imagined history of the Earth in which superior aliens from Canopus and Sirius play a role. It is told from the Canopean viewpoint. This work covers some of the same ground from the viewpoint of the inhabitants of Sirius, who are much less benevolent than the Canopeans.
