The Sinclair family

The Sinclair family are a fictional family in Emmerdale.
The family were introduced one by one.
First came Alasdair, who was obviously of aristocratic heritage. He was introduced as the fiancée of Sadie King.
Later at a dinner party, we met Alasdair's older brother Grayson and Grayson's wife, Perdita Hyde-Sinclair, they were then revealed as the new residents of Oakwell Hall which was previously occupied by Lady Tara Thornfield.
At the wedding of Alasdair and Sadie, we were finally introduced to the matriach of the Sinclair family, the ruthless and formidable Rosemary Sinclair who took an instant dislike to her youngest son's wife-to-be.
After Matthew King burst in to try and stop the wedding, it was too late, Sadie was already married but left Alasdair at the church to go off with Matthew, making Rosemary vow revenge on the woman who break her son's heart.
Rosemary made a deal with Sadie: in exchange for the Sinclair business with the most sentimental value to Rosemary, Sadie would have her marriage annulled. Rosemary finally got her own back on Sadie: as soon as the business was signed over, Rosemary revealed that it was now worthless. She also told Sadie that the meal she had been served prior to the signings had been Sadie's horse Cossack (this was a lie, but Sadie believed it).
Rosemary and Alasdair were soon off, possibly to another grand Sinclair home, while Grayson and Perdy stayed behind and became involved with village life.
It appears though that the marriage between Grayson and Perdy is on shaky ground following his continuous infidelities and her inhability to carry a baby full term.
At a recent shooting party at Home Farm, Perdy suffered a miscarriage which turned out to be her sixth. After Rosemary found out, from the family doctor, she made a point of saying the lack of a child was a danger to the family name. Perdy, furious with her mother-in-law's cruelty, forced Grayson to find them a house away from Oakwell Hall, and the two have since moved into the village into Rodney Blackstock's old house.
Rosemary, meanwhile, is hiding a huge secret from the rest of the family. She's broke and only her loyal servant, Susie is aware of this. She has since got her claws into Tom King in a bid to secure some financial backing, but what she doesn't know is that he, too, is broke and is using the Sinclair matriach for exactly the same thing.
While Tom get's sucked into Rosemary's world, his son Matthew has developed an attraction he has to Rosemary's daughter-in-law, Perdy and during a recent ball at Home Farm, in Grayson's absence, Perdy was unfaithful to her husband with Matthew.
