The Simpsons' 9th season (September 1997 - May 1998) began on Sunday, September 21, 1997 with The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson. The season contains three hold-over episodes from the season 8 (4F) production line and two episodes from the (3G) production line. The Simpsons 9th Season DVD has been officially announced for December 19, 2006 in the US and January 29, 2007 in the UK.

Homer coaches Bart's peewee football team, but the team starts to lose when Homer insists on using the less talented Bart as his quarterback instead of Nelson.

It is time for Apu's arranged marriage, but he is not ready to be married, so Homer has Marge and the kids pose as Apu's family whilst his mother comes to visit.

During an archeological dig, Lisa discovers what seems to be the skeleton of an angel.

Marge decides to become a realtor, but becomes morally conflicted when her boss wants her to lie to try and sell a house. Meanwhile, Homer obtains Snake's sports car at a Police Auction, which Snake is not too happy about.
188 - 910 December 21 5F07 Miracle on Evergreen Terrace
Bart accidentally destroys the family's Christmas tree and all of their presents during the night on Christmas Eve. Thinking that a burglar has struck, the rest of the family are overwhelmed by the donations and overall goodwill of the town towards them.

A clip show featuring a look back at past musical moments on this Simpsons.
190 - 912 January 11 5F08 Bart Carny
Homer costs a carnival worker and his son their jobs, and invites them to stay in the Simpsons' house. Whilst the Simpsons are out, the carnies barricade themselves in and claim the house as their own.

A new cult has almost all of Springfield brainwashed, and it's up to Marge, Flanders and Reverend Lovejoy to try and re-convert the town.

The kids of Springfield Elementary are trapped on an island, Lord of the Flies-style, after a bus accident. Homer starts an Internet company.

Krusty becomes a stand-up comedian after realizing that his comedic style is outdated.

Moe finds romance and devises an illegal scheme to get the money he needs to keep his girl, even though it means an insurance scam that winds Homer up in jail.

Lisa is convinced that she is genetically determined to become stupid by the age of 10 like the rest of the Simpson family. Apu converts the Kwik-E-Mart into a freakshow after Jasper freezes himself in one of the freezers.

Marge makes Bart befriend Ralph Wiggum after taking pity upon him. Originally reluctant, Bart uses Ralph to gain access to all of his father's police gear and learn that hanging with Ralph isn't so bad afterall.

Homer joins the Naval Reserve after getting fired from the Nuclear Power Plant.
198 - 920 April 5 5F14 The Trouble with Trillions
Following some tax problems, Homer helps the government retrieve a stolen trillion dollar bill from Mr. Burns.

Bart and Lisa become anchors for a local kid's news show, but Lisa becomes jealous when Bart starts playing on the viewers' emotions. Homer buys a trained monkey to help him around the house.
200 - 922 April 26 5F09 Trash of the Titans
Homer runs for the position of Sanitation Commissioner, after getting into a fight with some garbage men.
201 - 923 May 3 5F16 King of the Hill
Homer starts working out at night and becomes incredibly fit, so an energy-food company sponsors him to climb the highest mountain in Springfield.
202 - 924 May 10 5F17 Lost Our Lisa
When Marge has to take Bart to the hospital after he glues novelty items to his face, Lisa gets lost after taking the wrong bus when she tries to go to the Springfield museum by herself, so it's up to Homer to find her.

Margie, May I Sleep With Danger? (UK, Australia, Canada)

Homer and Marge find that narrowly escaping dangerous situations spices up their love life. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa find the lost alternate ending to the movie Casablanca.
