The Silent Scream

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Silent Scream is a 1984 video on abortion directed and filmed by Dr. Bernard Nathanson.[1] The film depicts the abortion process via ultrasound and vividly shows an abortion taking place on the fetus. In detail, the fetus is described as appearing to make outcries of pain and discomfort during the process. The video has been a popular tool used by the pro-life campaign in argument against abortion.

[edit] Controversy

The content of the video has been under tremendous scrutiny. In response to the video's release, Planned Parenthood convened a panel of medical experts to review and critique the video. These physicians claim the video is inaccurate. [2]
