The Show Place Arena

The Show Place Arena is a 5,800-seat multi-purpose arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It was home to the Chesapeake Icebreakers ice hockey team and in 2007 will be home to the Chesapeake Tide indoor football team. In the 2004-2005 season of the American Basketball Association, Show Place Arena was home to the Maryland Nighthawks.

It is most often used for equestrian events. But it is used for other events. The arena contains a 35,360-square-foot (136' by 260') floor allowing it to be used for various events such as concerts and trade shows. The arena has two scoreboards and matrix boards and measures 40 feet from floor to roof. There are three spotlights in the arena and there is also a 40-by-52-foot portable stage. The arena also contains two backstage ramps and two permanent concession stands plus a full-service bar. The arena also features ten handicapped-accessible restrooms and five luxury suites. There are two meeting rooms measuring a total of 4,000 square feet. Seating capacities are 3,007 for rodeos and horse shows, 5,100 for hockey and basketball, 5,200 for boxing and wrestling and up to 5,892 for concerts. A clock tower is located near the main entrance.

It hosted the first rounds of the Patriot League men's basketball tournament from 2002 to 2004.

The Show Place Arena is located in the Prince Georges Equestrian Center which contains a 3,000-seat indoor arena with a 120-by-240-foot (28,800 square feet) arena floor as well as five luxury suites; and various outdoor rings.

There are 2,500 parking spaces at the complex with another 3,000 within walking distance.
