The Seven Great Demon Lords

The Seven Great Demon Lords, or "Nanadaimaou" in Japanese, are fictional characters in the Digimon franchise. They are seven incredibly powerful evil Digimon, who as a group, are not spoken of in either the Digimon television series or any of the Digimon manga, although many of the members have appeared in both. If they have a collective goal, other than induce destruction in the long run, it is unknown. Some of The Seven Great Demon Lords are said to be Fallen Angel Digimon - to be specific, Daemon is said to be a fallen Seraphimon and Lilithmon a fallen Ophanimon. Each time a member of The Seven Great Demon Lords appeared in the anime or manga, they were a major or final boss. Each of the Seven Great Demon Lords also represents one of the Seven Deadly Sins, which represent the vile aspects of human nature, which is a counterpoint to the seven crests of the DigiDestined that represent pure aspects.

The names are derived from names demons or other figures from Christian and Jewish mythology: Satan, Beelzebub, Lucifer, Lilith, Barbatos, Leviathan, and Belphegor meaning that the main members are:

• Lucemon Chaos Mode　 (ルーチェモン フォールダウン モード): Pride
• Leviamon　(リヴァイアモン): Envy
• Daemon　(デーモン): Wrath
• Belphemon　(ベルフェモン): Sloth
• Barbamon　(バルバモン): Greed
• Beelzemon (Belzebumon ベルゼブモン): Gluttony
• Lilithmon　(リリスモン): Lust

These Digimon are all connected to the dark crests, which happen to be the Seven Deadly Sins: wrath, gluttony, pride, lust, greed, envy, and sloth.

Lucemon Shadow Lord Mode (also known as Lucemon Satan Mode in the original and "the dragon") has the crests of the Seven Great Demon Lords appear on his back during the Nihilism Maelstrom (Divine Atonement) attack. ^{[citation needed]}
