The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada

The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada are a Canadian Forces Land Force Command reserve infantry regiment.
The unit is based in Vancouver and is part of Land Force Western Area's 39 Canadian Brigade Group. The regiment serves in both times of war and civil emergency, such as disaster relief after earthquakes and floods. It contributes individual augmentees to Canadian Forces operations around the world.
The regiment was formed in 1910 as the 72nd Highlanders of Canada and gained its current name in 1920.
Several members of the Seaforth Highlanders have just returned from service in Afghanistan and dozens more are currently or soon will be training to serve overseas in the next two years.
