The Scalawagons of Oz (1941) is the thirty-fifth of the Oz books created by L. Frank Baum and the second both written and illustrated by John R. Neill.

The Wizard creates Scalawagons, intelligent cars that can also fly. He makes Tik-Tok superintendent of the Scalawagons Factory, but the mechanical man runs down. Bell Snickle, a mysterious creature, takes advantage of Tik-Tok's condition by filling the scalawagons with "flabber-gas," and the Wizard nearly loses his scalawagons. Various mishaps and meetings follow, hard to follow and even harder to explain.
