The Santa Clara

The Santa Clara is the weekly student newspaper of Santa Clara University. It publishes about 5,000 free copies every Thursday during the academic year. The newspaper was founded under the same name on Feb. 22, 1922.

The newspaper has received several awards over the last few years, including the Associated Collegiate Press's Pacemaker prize in 2004. It was a finalist for the award in 2005 and 2006, and its Web site won the online version of the prize in 2006.

Notable past staffers of The Santa Clara include Dee Dee Myers, President Bill Clinton's press secretary; Arizona governor Janet Napolitano; and renowned Silicon Valley journalist Michael S. Malone.
